about Robyn Haas, CD(DONA), CCLD, CCBE
I live in Southwest New Hampshire with my husband, two daughters, a dog and 2 cats. My educational background and BSc degree are in Biology, but it was soon after the joyous, life-changing home birth of my first daughter in 2001, that I discovered my passion and calling to support and encourage expectant mothers. I am now a DONA-certified Labor Doula, and a Childbirth Educator certified through Cascade Christian Childbirth Association. In my free time, I enjoy exploring New England with my family, reading, quilting, scrapbooking, camping and designing my future horse barn.
My philosophy about birth centers around my confidence in birth as a natural process, and a woman's divinely designed ability to birth her baby. I believe in a mother's (or mother-to-be's) instinct, and encourage women to look within themselves and heed what they find. While I am a proponent of natural childbirth, no two women, pregnancies or births are alike; there is no such thing as "one size fits all" when it comes to pregnancy and childbirth! First and foremost, I am an advocate of informed choice; I trust each woman to decide what will be best for her and her family after fully educating herself about all the available options. I feel strongly that the best choices are those that will make a woman feel most secure, and I will support women in whatever decisions they carefully make for their own birth.
I have also seen that paternal involvement, starting both in pregnancy and at the birth, is very important to the healthy development of the family. Childbirth and fatherhood can be an amazing transforming experience for men, and I encourage them to get as involved in the process as they can!
I absolutely love helping other women experience a safe and healthy pregnancy and birth, and sharing with them my confidence in the birth process. Every woman deserves to enjoy this natural and empowering life passage into parenthood as fully as possible. I consider it an honor to be in a profession where I can serve women during this miraculous time in their lives!

some comments from previous clients:
- Robyn was a valuable member of our birth team. She was very helpful leading up to the birth by providing useful reading materials and helping me to prepare myself mentally, by asking me questions about my birth preferences and feelings. During labor, she was supportive, caring and helpful without being overpowering or obtrusive.- VBAC mom of 2, Chester, VT
- Robyn proved to be a wonderful support before, during and after our delivery of baby Sara in June of 2006. Robyn offered a lot of reassurance with our decisions, helped with information to assist us in making decisions, gave us comfort and confidence that glided us through the journey of natural birth. Although we were in a hospital setting, Robyn made us feel at home and was always ready to help with anything that we needed. What an enjoyable birth it was!- mom of 2, Swanzey, NH
- Robyn was an essential part of our pregnancy, labor and birth experience.
My husband and I were so impressed and grateful for her patience and skill
as a doula: from the preparatory meetings and the incredibly helfpul
accompanying materials specific to my pregnancy and labor history, to her
gentle and assured presence during my entire labor, to her taking a series
of wonderful pictures when my daughter made her way into this world, and
ultimately to our last post-partum visit where she gave us a beautiful
written account of my daughter's birth. I think it is because of Robyn
that I didn't have back labor this time! We cannot recommend her highly
enough...- mom of 2, E Dummerston, VT
